2018 Rewind: My Top 50 Songs of the Year

2018 was a year of massive anthems and incredible variety. Even though the original file was titled "Top 40," I found 50 tracks that truly defined the year for me. From local legends like Jan Blohm to international heavyweights like Ghost and Slipknot, this was the soundtrack to a very busy year.

The "Brilliant 5" Highlights

1. Coming Along - Sunset Sweatshop The ultimate feel-good anthem of 2018. It dominated the airwaves and captured the local spirit perfectly.



2. Word Wakker - Jan Blohm A soulful, gritty masterpiece from one of South Africa's most honest songwriters.



3. Sterre Dans - Pierre Rossouw A beautiful, atmospheric track that remains a stand-out memory from this year.

4. Dance Macabre - Ghost Ghost brought the 80s back with this infectious rock hit. It’s dark, catchy, and impossible to skip.



5. My Body - Omar Morto (feat Hello Vinegar) An energetic, driving local track that kept the energy high on every playlist.

Hey all. I am starting a new blog, where I will post whatever I want to talk about - read it, agree with it, disagree with it, its up to you. Feedback is more than welcome, negative or positive. My top 3, however, are : 3rd place goes to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows : Part 1. My favourite Harry Potter movie so far. The  main cast is more grown up and believable, the movie has a darker feel to it, and is action packed. RAMfest 5 - A preview

Less than two weeks to go until RAMfest 2011! This will be the 4th time that I attend RAMfest, and is by far my favourite weekend of the year. The venue for this insane festival is Nekkies, just outside Worcester. My 1st RAMfest was RAMfest 2, in 2008. The highlight of that weekend, for me, was the first time that I saw Lark live! What an amazing band! Other highlights, for me, included Hog Hoggidy Hog, Fuzigish, Battery 9, Taxi Violence, Knave and Kidofdoom. Here a a few foto's of that weekend - Thanx to Leon van Heerden In 2009 I returned - no way I am missing RAMfest after my experience of the previous year. 2009 was bigger and better than 2008, no doubt. My favourite part of 2009 was once again Lark - they are truly amazing! Other highlights included the first major performance by Die Antwoord, the reunion show of V.O.D,  and brilliant performances by Isochronous, Kidofdoom and Fokofpolisiekar.
